The Octan FrioSuper G uses special cryogenic cooling technology in order to run at this high speed and features an impressive specification.
The system includes 256Mb of SDRAM, an 18Gb hard drive, a 3D Labs GVX1 32Mb AGP video card, a 22in Iiyama monitor and a SCSI DVD-RAM drive.
The machine is aimed at the CAD market, comes with Windows NT installed and costs £5,873.83.
However, other specifications are likely to be available and a version aimed at high-end gamers could be the cards.
Meanwhile, AMD has announced 733MHz and 750MHz Athlons which put it ahead of Intel's Pentium III in the megahertz marketing battle. The company is also expected to announce an 800MHz 0.18 micron design soon and to introduce a true 1GHz chip in January.
