New offerings for the highly competitive digital camera market have been announced by Canon, Konica and Ricoh.
Canon's tiny PowerShot A50 features a 1.31 million pixel CCD and 25-70mm wide-angle lens, with a maximum resolution of 1280x980 pixels. It has an 8Mb CompactFlash memory card and features such as a night scene mode for low light conditions.
Konica's 2.11 megapixel Q-M200 boasts faster image capture than the Q-M100, a 2x digital zoom and a range of shooting modes for different types of photography. It includes an 8Mb CompactFlash memory card and a Lithium battery charger.
Finally, Ricoh has announced the 2.3 megapixel RDC-5000, featuring a 2.3x optical and 2.5 digital zoom lens. The three different compression ratios mean that the 8Mb SmartMedia memory card can store up to 99 shots.
