Hotmail, Microsoft's free Web-based email service, has been given a facelift after reaching the ripe old age of three.
With more than 40 million members, Hotmail is the world's largest email service, according to Microsoft. It's certainly inspired a horde of other similar systems, and was updated in April to provide new user interfaces for German, French and Japanese users.
More changes are set to be introduced by the time you read this. These will include an all-new navigation system to provide faster access to Hotmail tools, more on-screen workspace for reading and composing messages, and an easier-to-use interface for features such as QuickList address, Find Message and Reminders.
The new design also eliminates HTML frames and high-resolution graphics, dramatically decreasing loading times for account holders.
