Austin Powers: Operation: Trivia

Alongside The Phantom Menace, the other big film this summer follows the continuing misadventures of secret agent Austin Powers. To coincide with The Spy Who Shagged Me, Sierra has released Operation: Trivia, a fast-moving multimedia quiz based on the characters created by Mike Myers. Yeah, baby!

Dr Evil has taken over the Electric Psychedelic Pussycat Swingers Club and, intent on destroying his nemesis, has kidnapped Austin. But, instead of simply running him through, the cat-loving criminal has chosen to take on the shagadelic spy in a pop-culture party game.

One or two players must choose to side with either Austin or Dr Evil before working their mojo on a series of quick-fire questions. Categories range from delights such as Snow Job and Sexy Toys, through to Proud Members and Catchphrase Me If You Can. Typical topics include news, films, TV shows, pop music and famous adverts, and Austin's euphemisms for male and female genitalia pop in and out from time to time. Oh, behave.

The idea is simply to buzz in when you have the right answer, slowly building up a mountain of prize money. The winner is the one with the most wonga at the end, and the next time you'll be given a score to beat.

Questions can have single or multiple answers, and there are bonus rounds where the fastest finger action wins the day. We said behave.

As with You Don't Know Jack, the presentation in Operation: Trivia is outstanding. Amazing animation, still images and oodles of audio make this the best PC-based quiz ever. The jokes never stop and there are so many questions and audio clips that no two games are ever the same.

Definitely one of the best games this year, Operation: Trivia shows that the simplest ideas are often the best. And it works on Macs too!

Guaranteed to make you horny, Austin Powers' fans should rush out and buy this now. Everything you need to be an international man (or woman) of mystery.

Price: £24.99 (inc VAT)
