Most people who work on a computer will surely have suffered from IT rage at one time or another - or at least that's what a recent MORI survey reveals. On behalf of Compaq it surveyed over 1,250 workers in Britain for the Rage Against the Machine research.
Four out of five respondents had even seen colleagues vent their frustration upon their IT equipment and half confessed to feeling so aggravated they felt like striking back at their systems. It seems that no matter how much manufacturers claim products are 'user-friendly' the reality just doesn't match up. Problems resulting in the verbal and physical abuse of IT equipment are common, while some users resort to bullying the IT department.
If you are suffering from IT rage, Compaq has set up a telephone helpline to advise you on how to deal with your wrath. Calls are charged at local rate and provide you with a list of options to choose from depending on what type of rage you're suffering from.
