BT has announced that it has signed Siemens Communications and Nortel to provide equipment, maintenance and support services for the voice systems and infrastructure used by its global customers.
The collaboration is designed to beef up BT's existing network of global and regional operation centres which provide service management on a region-by-region basis to customers across 120 countries.
Humphrey Penney, director of BT's Commercial and International Solutions, said that the deal would also aim to accelerate the delivery of voice and IP convergence systems to its global customers.
Graham Walker, managing director at Siemens Communications, added that the deal builds on a commercial relationship that has lasted between the two firms for over 20 years.
