Symantec purchase of Vontu approved

Deal will help boost buyer's data loss prevention business

Symantec's $350m (£170m) purchase of Vontu has been approved by US antitrust authorities.

The security firm, which announced the deal early last month, said it wanted to buy privately-held Vontu to improve its security business.

The deal will be completed before the end of the year.
