Christmas is coming and the printers are getting colourful. Inkjet rivals Hewlett-Packard and Epson have both added a colourful skin to brighten their ranges - and Epson even plans to cash in on the next millennium with the latest version of its Stylus Photo 750.
Christmas is coming and the printers are getting colourful. Inkjet rivals Hewlett-Packard and Epson have both added a colourful skin to brighten their ranges - and Epson even plans to cash in on the next millennium with the latest version of its Stylus Photo 750.
The 750 fits in towards the top of Epson's range, offering 1,440dpi resolution, a print speed of six pages per minute and six-colour printing for photo realistic results. This isn't the first revamp Epson has given its printers: earlier in the year it released a blueberry Stylus Color 740 to blend in with Apple's G3 PowerMacs and the blue iMac. The Millennium Edition's colour scheme is silver-and-black, and the design 'futuristic' - it costs £257. Hewlett-Packard range is an attempt to fit in with the iMac colour scheme. Rather than a one-colour printer like the 740, only the lids of the DeskJet 800 series are coloured. IMac users can buy strawberry, blueberry, grape, tangerine or lime lids. Each lid is £7.90.
