The Freedom Keyboard is a folding miniature keyboard designed for use with Pocket PCs, handheld PCs and smartphones. It's the first of its type to feature five rows of keys, which makes it far easier to use than others with a four-row layout.

The buttons on the Freedom Keyboard aren't as large as a standard PC keyboard, but it feels surprisingly natural and easy to use. It is compatible with a large range of devices. Palm handhelds, phones and Pocket PCs that use the Microsoft CE, Symbian or Microsoft Smartphone 2003 operating systems are catered for, and many of these can be propped up in a stand that folds out from the keyboard.

Connecting the keyboard to your device is straightforward, as it uses Bluetooth technology. Most handheld devices are compatible with Bluetooth, and the Freedom Keyboard's accompanying manual explains the connection process in simple steps.

At £81, it is quite expensive, but if you regularly write long documents on your portable device it is a useful tool.
