It's been a quieter time of late for new PC releases but NEC, Tiny and Gateway all have new machines on sale.

NEC's Powermate 2000 is a £2,055.08 desktop PC powered by a 500MHz Pentium III processor. The reason for the seemingly excessive price tag can be found on screen: the monitor is a 15in TFT colour flat panel.

Tiny's new PC lives up to the company's name. The MediaBook Power is a slimline notebook computer with 14.1screen, 12Gb hard disk drive, 600MHz Pentium III processor and a DVD-ROM drive as standard. The £1,799 price includes delivery.

Finally, Gateway's Solo 2150 range, which starts at £1,467.58 and comes as standard with 14.1in display and Pentium III processor. Its modular bay system allows the addition of peripherals like Zip and DVD-ROM drives.
