Sharp, Sony, Hi-Grade and Elonex are all celebrating summer with the launch of new notebook computers.
Sony's slimline Vaio family has a new member in the guise of the PCG-F150LT. This £1,402.95 computer boasts a 300MHz Pentium II processor, a 4.3Gb hard disk drive, a 13in colour screen and 32Mb of memory.
Sharp's PC-A250 has the same processor as the VAIO but sports the company's new anti-glare, anti-reflective (AGAR) black TFT display. This promises owners extremely crisp and clear images and Sharp will charge you £2,109.12 for the privilege.
Elonex's Soliton notebook has been updated, the new model being powered by a 366MHz Celeron processor. For the £1,292.50 asking price you'll also get 64Mb of RAM, a 4.2Gb hard disk and a 24-speed CD-ROM drive.
The Notino AS7400 is Hi-Grade's new offering. Priced at £2,196.08, the notebook is fitted with a Pentium II 400MHz processor and a 14.1in TFT screen.
Meanwhile, chief Intel rival AMD has taken the wraps off the Mobile K6-III, a range of processors designed specifically for use in notebook computers.
With a host of advanced features, AMD claims the new chips will outperform their Intel equivalents and cost less into the bargain.
