Epson spouted a bold claim this month - it reckons the photographic output from its new printers will not fade away.
Actually, the number-one printer firm didn't go quite that far: Epson's ink experts say that snaps printed out on the buff Stylus Photo 870 and Stylus Photo 1270 will keep their colours for at least a decade - a quantum leap in terms of the light-fastness of printer inks.
Otherwise, the new models are pretty much run-of-the-mill Epson fare.
At £239, the Stylus Photo 870 offers print speeds up to 9ppm for mono output, and a claimed 8.8ppm for colour. Those prepared to stump up £399 for the 1270 model will find themselves able to print out photographs up to A3 size.
Both printers use Epson's "Intellidge" ink cartridge, incorporating a clever chip that works out when the ink will run out.
